Nationally recognized experts on nonprofit fundraising coming to Danbury in the fall.

David Condon, a nationally-recognized expert on fundraising, capital campaigns and nonprofit strategy, and Simone Joyaux, an internationally recognized leader in the philanthropic profession will present four workshops on Funds Development in the fall of 2007.  The workshops will be held at the Sheraton in Danbury, CT on September 20th, October 11th, November 15th and December 13th.

David Condon will present two workshops: "Creating Resource Development Teams" and "Creating a Marketing Plan that Works".  David has provided professional counsel to hundreds of nonprofits. His expertise and passion for his clients causes has been instrumental in clients closing over 200 solicitations of one million dollars or more.  David is an outstanding motivational and professional development speaker.  Audiences consistently place him among the most informative and entertaining speakers at the conferences and events he attends.

David has extensive understanding of nonprofit management and he is an expert at applying successful business practices to the nonprofit sector.  David began working with nonprofit agencies in 1968. He was Director of Special Services for the Derby, Connecticut Public School System and later was President and CEO of Durham Hill School, a nonprofit residential treatment facility for severely retarded/emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. 

Simone Joyaux will also present two workshops: "The Power of Individual Donors" and "Developing the Best Proposals for Foundations and Government".  Simone is an internationally recognized leader in the philanthropic profession as a consultant, volunteer, writer and teacher / presenter. She is the recipient of the 2003 Rhode Island Outstanding Philanthropic Citizen Award and the 1987 Fundraising Executive of the Year Award for Rhode Island.  Joyaux provides consulting services in fund development, board and organizational development, and strategic planning to diverse types and sizes of organizations around the U.S. and in other countries, including government agencies and foundations.

Her book, Strategic Fund Development: Building Profitable Relationships That Last, receives rave reviews. She is a faculty member for the Masters Program in Philanthropy and Fund Development at Saint Mary's University in Minnesota.  Joyaux serves on international, national and local boards. She is a past chair of CFRE International and the Founder and Chair of the Women's Fund of Rhode Island.
